The colour gradient in the background should be smooth; if you see distinct coloured rings, choose a higher number of colours. The website is made with 24 bit colour depth, enabling almost 17 million colours.
The colours should be warm; if the jacket of the first book is strongly bluish or if the yellow colour in the centre of the screen is greenish, choose warmer colours.
Colour adjustments should not be made until the monitor has been switched on for at least half an hour.
The letters should be smooth; if the edges are jagged, enter Display in the Control Panel of your Windows PC, choose Effects, and under Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts choose Clear Type; this will improve the appearance of all fonts viewed on your PC, especially those in italics.
