Topic

A little change in forum search, please

    Jacob Bugge - 06:54am Dec 8, 2004 PST

The current default setting of Where to search is:

Search all forum messages (in all forums)
It would be nice if the default setting could be changed to the current forum or topic thread which is now the other option (shown for Illustrator Windows):

Search forum messages only under the current forum or topic thread (Illustrator Windows)
All my searches and probably most other searches are within the current forum. This means that everyone has to remember ticking the obvious every time, or be in danger of being flooded by irrelevant matches. All forums should be the other option.

    Therefore: please change the default.

Thanks from here as well. I had been meaning to request this change for at least a couple of years, but always forgot for one reason or another.

Now all we need is the cursor blinking in the box so we can just type and hit Enter without mousing.

And a way to get back to the Illustrator/Windows forum from the Illustrator/Mac forum. You can go one way, but you can't go back. (Wrong thread, I know, but not big enough for its own.)

I have just noticed that this welcome change hasn't been implemented in the forums in French and in Spanish :-(

I have just noticed this feature is now operative in the Forums in Spanish. Thank you!

And you can now get from Illustrator/Mac to Illustrator/Windows. Thanks.

It does seem that the natural migration path would be from Windows to Mac, and not have to go back, but I'm not quite there yet.

    Just tried it...GREAT!

And all you had to do was ask...go figure. :)

But you still have to use the mouse before you can type the search words.

I knew someone would say so, eventually.

    What Dee Holmes said!

That one has made me crazy for a couple of years too! Jacob goes and asks (duh) and it gets done like that!
